Krampus by Wilhelm Schweizer – SO64

$133.00

Krampus by Wilhelm Schweizer is a step into the darker side of Germany’s holiday traditions. Recognized as the fearsome companion of Saint Nicholas, Krampus traditionally appeared on the evening of December 5 to remind children that good behavior would be rewarded – and mischief might have consequences.
This remarkable hand-painted pewter figurine brings the centuries-old legend to life through richly sculpted details. Curved horns, piercing red eyes and sharp teeth give Krampus his intimidating expression, while the bundle of switches, rattling chain and child tucked inside his sack recall the character’s most familiar folkloric symbols. His deep burgundy robe and flowing silver-gray beard add dramatic color and old-world character to the scene.
Hand-cast and carefully painted in Germany, Krampus by Wilhelm Schweizer is a fascinating addition to a Wilhelm Schweizer collection. Display it as part of an Alpine Christmas or Saint Nicholas presentation or pair it with witches and other legendary figures for a distinctive Halloween arrangement.
The piece is hand cast, hand painted, imported Pewter from Germany.  Comes gift boxed and is painted on both sides.  Colors may vary from the image shown since each piece is individually hand painted. Krampus by Wilhelm Schweizer is approx. 2.25”W x 4”H.
